I went to a soccer game yesterday, Basic vs. Coronado, because my friend Dana is the coach. So we caught up on each other's lives, cracked some jokes, compared bellies. She is pregnant with a boy also, due a month after me. Our girls are just a few months age difference also. We haven't seen each other in like a year, but since we lived together throughout our college days, we have a friendship that just picks up where it left off.
Anyway, she made fun of the Christmas picture that we sent in our Christmas cards this year.
"what'd you do, set a camera on the ground and snap a picture? You got a dog's rear in it"...etc. etc.
The picture above was what might have been. It was our attempt way back in December at getting a good picture. This was the best one, and it wasn't much better than the one we sent out. It's a lot of work making a dog and a toddler understand that they need to sit still for 10 seconds and smile at the flashing green light.
So for any of you who had the same thought when you excitedly tore open our Christmas card this year, we tried to get a good family picture. Really we did.
In pregnant news:
13 more days until baby boy is here. I am sooooo ready. My ribs are sick of being pried apart, I long to bend over and pick things up without grunting, I miss holding Avery on my lap, my skin is really close to giving in to stretch marks, my back is sore, the "practice" contractions are getting frequent and annoying, and I want to put shoes on without breathing heavily.
So bring it on, baby boy.
