Jimi heads in to turn in his badge at Vision Airlines.
He came out singing The Doors song, "this is the end...my only friend, the end..."
I don't want to leave the impression that Vision Airlines was a bad idea and experience for us. In reality, they were crucial to Jimi's career. We had some good times along the way.
Sure they lack business and HR sense, but they hired Jimi when he had a mere 200 hours. That is a miracle, and we would be ingrates not to acknowledge what a blessing this job was for us.
But it's good to be out. Really good.
Here are some pictures of good times:
Jimi's dad checking out the cockpit.
I acted nonchalant in this picture on purpose. Look at that scenery!
(actually, Jimi has says he doesn't think the GC is pretty anymore. it just exists.)
My mom and dad came on a tour. We had to fly on a different airplane without Jimi as our pilot on the way home. Me and my mom were scared.
The Kelvingtons came once...
The Masons also came on a tour once. I want to revisit this story from that trip:
We also saw Ken "my ball" the flight attendant. (About a year ago, Brandon and Emily came on the tour with us. While we were boarding, Abbey stood up to go sit with Emily, and in a Dramamine induced stupor, stumbled and somehow hit Ken's jewels. He then fell to his knees and cried out in pain, mixed with an Asian accent, "my ball!".)
Side note: there is a pilot at Vision whose name is Ken Ball. Whenever Jimi would tell a story about one of the Kens, I would have to clarify: "Ken Ball or Ken My Ball?"
Incidentally, Ken Ball got hired with Allegiant too.
As I was typing this blog, the baby monitor made that noise when a cell phone is about to ring. Jimi looked up and said, "I don't dread that noise anymore!"
We know that his day off can't be interrupted with a call from Vision anymore. Yesssss.
