T is for Time Keeps On Slipping

 slipping slipping, into the future. 

Senior Pictures were next on the list of senior things to do. 

So Mary flew up here and did her photog magic on Avery. It was so fun to watch her in motion. 

These first ones were taken in our back yard area. It was a little rainy. 

These are just a few samples. How do you pick a favorite?

And this one. I accidentally matched her. 

The next day we went to Western for Bailey's photo shoot. 

This one was super fun to tag along with. I've never been to Western campus (except yes I have once for Evan's 2nd grade field trip that I think about often).

This library room is so pretty, but also there is nothing absorbing the sounds, so we were loud just by nature of being human. Like these wooden chairs creak so loud. The camera shutter click echoed through out the room.

It was fun to watch Mary's wheels turn as we walked through campus, watching her set up different shots. 

This was the only day that the sun shone, so we did back to back shoots. 

From Western to the Beach. 

PS there were so many seals swimming around out there! At one point I counted 12 little heads sticking out of the water. 

Some other fun things we did: 

Hike at Galbraith - Mary's turn to pose - hands in pockets!

Cross the border to Canada for the gym and good girl food,

Avery's soccer game,

dog walking, 

puzzles,

pumpkin pie.

PS This was like a month ago. I don't know what to do with time. 

Don't tell anyone, but I don't like senior year. It's too much and a lot of things, and at the end, Avery moves out of my house. Noooo

Senior Night

Update on HOCO: both kids had a ton of fun at the dance. They danced, they sang, they had a blast. 

Well, senior night. 

It was sweet. 

Our whole family was down on the field during the "ceremony". 

If you think your kids won't grow up and become seniors, I'm here to warn you that they do and will. 

We played Mt Baker (so it was a fun game and we won by a lot).

They gave the seniors so many gifts and nice words. 

Gio called Avery "team mom". 

All the freshman love her. 

Lindsay took these great pictures at a game versus Lynden. 

Gio told Avery to stick on this number 5 and shut her down.

She ended up accidentely stepping on her hand (pictured here) and she had to go out of the game. haha. 

Shut down for sure. 

The season is almost over. Two more games in the regular season, and then play offs. 

I love watching them, but it's also so hard to watch them lose against bigger schools. 

 

Fall is Underway

Here we GO!!

Senior season baby. Look at what a stud. Look how much she's grown. 

Confidence, muscles. 

This year they went to Orcas Island and her team BONDED and she is loving it. 

She says she actually loves practice because her teammates have a blast.

Look at her as a freshman. I can't even believe it. 

(Get ready for me to "not believe it" all year long.)

All the freshman this year LOVE her because she treats them like humans. 

I was watching her at a football game last night and all the freshman teammates kept hugging her and talking to her. 

This is Andrew's first middle school game.

He didn't want to play but I made him. And he somewhat dreaded it for a few weeks.

But lately he is liking it. He says every game gets more and more fun.

It's crazy how much he is stretching out. Puberty is a funny thing. 

Away game. 

It's the time of year where my kids go to school, and we go explore the mountains.

This is my third time. It's the prettiest out there. 

Football games! 

I LOVE watching Evan on drums. 

And I love watching my kids doing their high school social thing. I feel like a fly on the wall. 

Friday Andrew got awarded for last year's 4.0.

Bravo Andrew!

And Friday Evan got to play snare for the first time. 

He's so good, it's so fun. 

On top of all these Fall things, Avery is:

signing up/getting ready for the SAT,

applying to colleges, 

getting ready for HOCO,

getting ready for lots of other senior things: pictures, paint the parking spot, sports banner, still waking up for seminary. 

It's A LOT. 

She says doing regular school work is a simple luxury compared to all the other senior things.
