Eggs

Before...

After.
I love Easter posts because the colors are so pretty.

Can you smell the vinegar?

Evan, fresh off the bus.

Andrew, sleepy taco burrito.

I Don't Feel Like Writing a Title

I don't feel like writing captions.

Thumb Pit? Is that What it's Called?

Still in love with her baby brother.

I jumped on the silhouette bandwagon. I just think they are so snappy.
I love that you can tell exactly whose profile each belongs to.

warmy

I remember when his little arms and legs didn't even reach into the...arms and legs. He just kind of koala beared inside it. Now he's about to out grow it.

At least once a day I lock myself in my room with Andrew for some alone time.
We both need the space and the quiet.
This day he was so over stimulated by both kids touching him, swinging hair in his face, bringing him toys and making him hold on to it, pulling on his arms, singing to him...he was crying so I brought him upstairs and....
quiet.

We watched the sky get dark as the sun went down.

See what I mean? She can't stay away from him.
She really is a good big sister though. Her intentions are nothing but love.

This is us in the doctor's office for Evan's 3 year well check.
He is super tall for his age.

Super heroes. It's almost bedtime. I can tell by the
jammies
tap tap
staring at the tv

There are times when I just want to sit and rock Andrew, but I can't because x, y, and z need to be taken care of.
x = Avery
y = Evan
z = etc.

If you don't know your algebra, that sentence is probably very confusing.

He's cooing and making little laughing grunts lately.
I just think he's the most perfect little baby.

Except for this little issue...
Ok, Andrew has the stinkiest hands.
He sucks on them and then clenches them shut so they get all sour. I bathe him every night and scrub the toe jam out of the deep cracks and thumb pit, but it's still stinky.
haha gross, yeah?

Day two of preschool was "a super day".
We are waiting for the school bus to pull up.
He always talks about the school bus.

He seems like such a big boy when he comes off the bus with his jacket askew and his backpack in hand. He eats an after school snack and I ask him about his day. All he can tell me is "school bus!"

And that's all and good night.

First Day of School!

Did you know that your elementary school has a pre school program for kids with developmental delays? And if your child qualifies, he/she gets free preschool and a little bus comes to your house to take them to and from school?
What a great country we live in.

Evan still doesn't communicate well at all. He has lots of words and catch phrases, but not good communication. He totally qualified with (un?) flying colors.

He gets to go four times a week for two hours and works with all kinds of specialists.
Again, what a great country we live in.

I had to get a head shot of him to send to his teachers...it took a few tries.

Every day they do show and tell. He took his Muno today. This is us on the way to school, stopped by a train passing through town.
I drove him there for his first day, but from now on a cute little bus will come pick him up.
Great country. GREAT country.

I left him with his teachers, happy to play with the toys.

Here's his little cubby and backpack and picture and name.
It's all so cute.

I expected to feel sad that my little boy was off starting school without me, but you know what? All I feel is excitement for him. He gets to learn so much and be exposed to so many cool things. I just think this will be so great for him, and I am so thankful he has this opportunity.

But by the time the two hours was over, I was staring out the window waiting for him to get back to me.

He was so excited about the "school bus".
Linda the bus driver is super cool too.

He had a great day!
He keeps chattering about that school bus.

The Flowers, the Flowers, the Flowers

My blog posts used to have a reason and a rhyme for each one, now it's just a mish mash of pictures I take throughout the days.

He's getting too big for her lap.

In the middle of the night.

Have you ever tried to brush Evan's teeth? It's not even worth it.
Just rot away, teeth. Go ahead.

Sometimes me and Andrew lock ourselves in the bedroom.
Peace and quiet.

I didn't know this was going to happen, but the primrose flowers I planted last year
"act like a perennial" when planted in mild climates.
What a surprise it was to suddenly see color in my rotting, neglected flower bed.

I have never in my life appreciated spring as I have these past two years. I've never before noticed the little sprigs of green and color among the slog.
It's such a symbol of hope and anticipation after the months of grey and dormancy.
I know this sentiment is nothing new, but it's just so very poignant in my life right now.
A coming out of hibernation of sorts.

I think on my top ten things I am thankful for, "seasons" is there. What a brilliant idea.

The other day was a rare sunny day in early March.
Dinner was ready and on the table, but I just couldn't tell the kids to come inside.
Avery had the idea to take this blanket outside to eat.
Evan tried to run over her with his bike.

There are times in a household that have a definite "feel".
Like Sundays, mornings, and the hour that daddy gets home from work.
Everyone is so excited and relieved. Everyone wants a piece of him.

I tried to get a good picture of Andrew's eyelashes.
Right around two months is when my babies grow them.

Avery let her teddy bear have the pillow.

Grizzly bear stretch - post hibernation.

I couldn't go a whole blog post without one of these pictures.

This is a fun time of my day.
We both try and hear each other over the noise of
A. the airplane engine
B. kids/babies yelling/crying

Usually we just sit and smile at each other.
It means he's halfway done! Now turn around and come on home.

*bonus question: regarding the title of this post, who sings that song with those lyrics?
